Education & Experience

April McCoy is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Education and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology From the University of Central Oklahoma in 2010 before earning her Master's in Counseling Psychology from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2015. She completed her internship through the OU Medical Center in the Child Study Center where she worked with children and families to address specific needs related to defiance and child problematic sexual behavior. She has worked in community mental health to address the needs of adults, couples, families, adolescents, and children.


Certifications, Trainings, & Treatment Modalities

April is nationally certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). She is trained in specific evidence-based practices (e.g. Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS), etc.) and methodologies (e.g. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), etc.) as well as actively engages in ongoing education in order to provide the best possible care to clients.
